Hi, I'm Deniz.
Digital Product Designer based in Berlin.
Currently, Team Lead Product Design at Recare.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Previously at Gorillas (part of Getir) and Durstexpress (now Flaschenpost).

Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. While life took me down a different path, it led me to Visual Communication Design, and eventually to Product Design, where my curiosity for systems, solutions and real-world impact found a new home. Nature still deeply inspires how I observe and think, but today I’m just as passionate about designing digital products that meaningfully improve people’s lives.
I currently lead the Product Design function at a health-tech company. My role focuses on scaling the design practice by setting strategy and direction, shaping processes and mentoring designers. I also remain hands-on with creative and conceptual design work. I collaborate closely with product, engineering and leadership to turn complex healthcare challenges into clear, human-centred solutions.
What I enjoy most is balancing the macro and the micro: guiding teams and long-term vision, while remaining close to the craft. I’m particularly drawn to complex, data-heavy products and to exploring how emerging technologies, including AI, can be applied responsibly to improve healthcare workflows. What makes the work meaningful to me is creating things together; combining different perspectives, skills and experiences to arrive at better solutions than any one person could do alone. Seeing strong ideas emerge through collaboration is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Outside of work, I paint, play (and watch) tennis, and occasionally been exploring astronomy - I’m endlessly fascinated by what’s visible through a small telescope when you take the time to really look.
I’m currently living and working in Berlin.

Gorillas, Berlin
Leading and scaling the Product Design function at Recare by defining design strategy and direction. I'm partnering with product, engineering and leadership to enable execution and deliver impactful, user-centred healthcare solutions.
I joined Gorillas as Senior Product Designer on the Supply Chain team. Here I worked on an internal web tool which provided an overview and helped with the ordering and receiving processes of deliveries for the warehouses across all countries Gorillas has been active. The mission was to build the infrastructure for a supply chain and fulfilment process that created a stable foundation to scale and optimize the commercial business. After 7 months, I was promoted as Lead Product Designer of the Logistics Space, in which we develop all internal tools that are used in the company. I continue being an individual contributor on the Supply Chain and Darkstore Operations teams. I manage two Product Designers, one UX Researcher and one Content Designer.

User Experience Designer
Durstexpress, Berlin
At Durstexpress we were a design team of 3. As team (UX & UI) we worked on the Webshop and Consumer Apps. As sole UX Designer, I also contributed on the Warehouse products, Driver App and Business Tools products, working both on the UX topics and visual aspects. I was involved in projects from initial brainstorming meetings to the end of implementation. We didn’t have a dedicated user research specialist, so I also conducted basic user research and usability tests. Our mission was to create and modernise the tools, make them more user friendly, improve the search functionality and increase the task success rate.
2019 - 2020
User Experience Designer
Fliit, Berlin
At Fliit, I was part of a small product team and worked closely with the tech team. I worked on the UX and UI of the internal and external products. For new features we did workshops with users and gathered feedback. These workshops were followed by brainstorming, sketching and coming up with feasible ideas. We visualised these ideas via wireframes and only after having solid decisions which were approved by everyone involved, we started with high fidelity designs and sent them to development after user testing sessions. As it was a small team, I was involved directly in every phase. I also met users for user research, and reported back to the team at the office.
